The most crucial factor when enlarging a photo or image is to be aware and understand the pixel size. The higher the pixel sizes will definitely produce sharper and more vivid image prints.
If for example the pixel size is low for canvas size you would like, the print output will be pixilated, thus your canvas print will look blurry. We will advice promptly and we will only print at your insistence. We will not proceed when we know the quality of the print out will not be good, ever.
To make it a lot easier for you, we have compiled a guide of shape, size and finishing, which summarises the minimum recommended number of pixels for the canvas print size you are after. If you are going to print a larger sized canvas, we recommend that your photo/picture should have a higher number of megapixels.
How To check and verify pixels of any photo / picture:
- Right click your desired photo/picture file and then choose Properties. From the pop-up panel select DETAILS and scroll down to IMAGE. You will see the image width and height, along with other information. If you are unable to see the width and height, look for a button called "Advanced" (sometimes under Summary) and follow prompts.
- To calculate the total amount of your image pixels, Multiply both the height and width numbers. To illustrate the above instruction, let’s assume are picture or photo has a width with 2000 pixels and a height with 3000 pixels. There are 1 million pixels in a megapixel, so for our example: 2000 x 3000 = 6,000,000 pixels, thus your image file is 6 Megapixels.
- Check our shape, size and finishing guide to see the range of shapes and sizes we offer
Some images might still be okay to enlarge though they fall short of recommended pixel size. If you have a very memorable and special picture that you love to enlarge and print onto canvas, you can proceed to order and we will advise if it will be acceptable, or offer alternative. However, the decision solely relies on you and we will not be responsible for your personal dissatisfaction if you choose to proceed.
Hopefully this information we have provided will help you make better understanding of how to create a stunning, vivid and quality canvas print you will happily display in your home. If you happen to be unsure before you start creating your very own photo canvas, please contact us and we will be more than happy to help.
